A crushed green velvet settee, burlap decorated bird cage, weathered books and an old farm table set the scene in a field. Lauren, who is not only stunningly beautiful carries with her a true southern charm, she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Her fiance is Shane Smith of Shane Smith & The Six Guns. It was only fitting she brought the tambourine for a few shots.

Flower Portrait

Rock the Shot forum is having a flower portrait contest this month and I immediately thought of this image. This photo was captured on Cinco De Mayo (May 5th) in Colony, Texas at the Tribute Golf Course. The gorgeous sunset illuminated Ryan and Michelle as they embraced each other on such a beautiful wedding day. Texas wild flowers filled the frame and an old stone brick wall created a background.

The image was captured on my 50mm Sigma lens with Canon Mark III at Aperture 2.2. Edited with an overlay texture from Florabella Texture III.

Lauren and Shane met in the small town of Kaufmen, Texas at the age of 14 and have been together ever since. They moved to Austin, Texas where Shane pursued his dream of being a musician. He created the Shane Smith Band that mixes Americana, Country and Rock all in one. This session incorporated each others love for a small town, music and an amazing Texas sunset. Shane often tries to teach the Banjo to Lauren who fancies the harmonica more than any other instrument.

Snow White Inspired Session with Ashley Jo Green

Moist green grass and long ago fallen trees added to the mysterious setting. Once dry, winter rain filled the near by creek. An old Rolleicord camera, birdcage laced with burlap and vintage suitcases decorated the scene. Snow White awaits for her Prince so that they can live happily ever after, but draws restless after a while. Will her Prince come or is there a witch lurking nearby?

Ashley & Chase | Engagement Photographer Buda

Chase and Ashley have been doing the “long distance” relationship for almost two years. Chase is in California and Ashley is in Texas. I was so excited to capture their engagement session in her hometown of Buda. We had an amazing time with all the local spots. As the sun began to set in an open field we wrapped up the session with some amazing images. The old rustic truck in the background once belonged to Ashley’s grandfather. Old suitcases decorated the frame and it made for one amazing opportunity. Thank you Ashley and Chase for such a special session.

I had the chance to photograph this fun, cute couple in Buda just outside my studio. They even brought their dog Bingham to include in the session. We got some amazing sunset shots. Special thanks to Country Sugar for their amazing styling and Styled Rotten for making the couple look so good. We had a blast and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next year.

Johnson City not only has a historic presence, but to quote my assistant, “you just want to hug the darn city.” I had the pleasure of photographing Torrey who grew up in Johnson City and cheered there before heading to Lubbock and then finishing at Texas State. With the sunsetting at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site Torrey took center stage and not only showed her true country beauty.Her presence and elegance in such a beautiful gown had everyone in awe. Thank you Torrey for an amazing session.
